The imaret comprised of kitchen, dining hall, warehouse and pantry takes place in the south corner of the Prince Complex (Şehzade Külliyesi) which was built in mid-16th and devoted Prince Mehmet whom Suleyman the Magnificent had wished to be succeeded.
The complex is regarded as an apprenticeship work of Mimar Sinan. Planned configuration design for the imaret foresees various functions to be nested such as a dining room for students, book sales units and a Turkish cuisine for training purposes where the original stoves of the 16th century cuisine will be revived a representation for visitors to see.
