The Urban Culture Directorate aims to make culture and arts visible in Istanbul by both encouraging projects through which the inhabitants can express themselves, and developing cooperation with public institutions, local administrations and civil society organizations. The main goal is to promote large-scale public participation in every stage of the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture process.




All Urban Culture Projects

Young Volunteers of Istanbul: 18 -70 The project is a volunteering program intended to attain voluntary participation of Istanbul residents for introducing the city and the various activities to both domestic and foreign guests.

Cultural Management Professional Formation Program for Local Administrations A professional formation training will be provided to the public employees working at cultural organizations and institutions of Istanbul Metropolitan and County Municipalities.
