Istanbul 2010 Kadırga Art Production Center hosts a photograph exhibition by 75 students of 8-12 years old from Kadırga Primary School and Tevfik Kut Primary School.
Comprised of the output of 5-day training workshop by independent curators group ANTISERIAL, the exhibition "Snapshot Take a Look with my Eyes" will stay open to visitors until March 31.
Photography workshop with 75 students of 8-12 years old from Kadırga Primary School and Tevfik Kut Primary School were realized on 1-5 March at Kadırga Art Production Center under the supervision of trainers Sibel Diker, Feryal Özen, Harp Öztürk and Can Üçüncü from ANTISERIAL.
Aiming at giving theoretical education on photography and raising interest of the children in this art, the workshops studied works by photograph artists such as Andreas Gursky, Man Ray, Jeff Wall, Ara Güler and, Gerard Richter and painters like William Turner, Edward Hopper and Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres in order to give perspectives as how various angles might be captured from different perceptions.
Upon theoretical studies, the students went out in Kadırga district to take photographs. This is how the photographs were taken before they are put on display in the exhibition "Snapshot Take a Look with my Eyes" at Kadırga Art Production Center until March 31.
The difference between looking and seeing
By this workshop ANTISERIAL targeted at making children conceive the difference between looking and seeing. Participating children expressed that they had got a better chance to know their environment thanks to the photographs they took for this project.
ANTISERIAL will realize five more workshops with children at Kadırga Art Production Center in 2010.
