Organized for building a cultural bridge among the European and Asia-Pacific countries through architecture, the exhibition 'New Trends of Architecture in Europe and Asia-Pacific' is held in Istanbul the European Capital of Culture for 2010. The exhibition is also an event by the Japan Year 2010 in Turkey.
Organized by the Arkitera Architecture Center, the exhibition 'New Trends of Architecture in Europe is held under the sponsorship of Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency and with the support of Buildist at Milli Reasürans Art Gallery between 9 March and 10 April 2010.
Under the curatorship of Sir Peter Cook and Toyo Ito, the exhibition is to display works of 15 architecture offices (8 from Europe and 7 from Asia-Pacific) including one by Han Tümertekin from Turkey.
Besides the exhibition, there will also be a panel to be moderated by Ömer Kanıpak on Tuesday March 9, at 16:00 in the Auditorium of Milli Reasüreans which will be joined by Han Tümertekin from Turkey, Mun Summ Wong from Singapore, Reinhard Kropf and Helen & Hard from Norway, Bernardo Rodrigues from Portugal with the Japanese architect Tatsuya Yamamoto who works in Istanbul.
The publication prepared in Turkish and English which includes also the texts by exhibition curators Sir Peter Cook and Toyo Ito can be obtained at Milli Reasürans Art Gallery during the exhibition.

Initiated during the 2002 European Union – Japan summit by Romano Prodi the Chairman of EU Commission and Junichiro Koizumi the Prime Minister of Japan for the purpose of building a cultural bridge among the European and Asia-Pacific countries through architecture, exhibition 'New Trends of Architecture in Europe and Asia-Pacific' has been attributed great importance and so far displayed in 18 cities including Tokyo, Porto, Rotterdam, Gent, Salamanca, Bordeaux, Lisbon, Madrid, Lille, Hong Kong, Cork, Melbourne, Anyang, Patras, Perth and Barcelona.
