Coffee houses are an indispensable part of our culture functioning as verbal history schools where we share and voice up our joys, knowledge and culture so that they could be conveyed to next generations. Unfortunately coffee houses have long started to fall apart from this mission and turned out to be places where people go just to spend time.

Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture process gets to upgrade the coffee houses to their true value and first steps are taken in Esenler for this objective.

Within the scope of the project ‘Esenler joins 2010 with 100 thousand people’, the second coffee houses seminar was held at Esenler Bayburt Culture and Charity Association on 4 February 2010 with the presentation by the life-coach Savaş Koç who is an expert on urban culture and urban awareness.

The program was also joined by Ahmet Temel the Vice-Mayor of Esenler, Aziz Kekeç the Cultural Director at Esenler Municipality, Abdurrahman Polat Timur the President of Istanbul Bayburt Culture and Charity Association Polat Timur, Necmettin Emiçeri the president of Esenler Bayburt Culture and Charity Association and the association members.
