Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture’s launch meeting in Brussels on February 2 was attended by Members of EP and bureaucrats as well as an elite group of guests comprising of members from media and art community.

The program commenced with press information and went on with a panel titled “Contribution of Istanbul to the European Culture” which was moderated by Johnny Dymnond the BBC Representative in Europe and joined by Egemen Bağış, Richard Howitt, Nilüfer Göle and Yudhishthir Raj Isar as speakers.

The program continued with a cocktail party in Restaurant des Members during the evening hours where Andrew Duff, Hannes Swoboda, Hélène Flautre, Ria Oomen-Ruijten, Egemen Bağış, Hüsamettin Kavi and Beyhan Murphy gave out brief speeches. The event was ended after the live performance.
