Upon the official opening ceremony in Turkey, the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency launched another promotion activity in the European Parliament bringing together prominent figures of the culture-art community with Members of the European Parliament and distinguished names from international NGOs, academic circles and the international press.

Having started in 2000, Istanbul’s voyage of European Capital of Culture finally made it to the heart of Europe by the special event held in the European Parliament House in Brussels on Tuesday, February 2.

In parallel to the events realized in the Parliament, open- air advertisements commenced in Brussels city center. Billboards in streets and subway stations around the Parliament house are now featuring the slogan “İstanbul… the most inspiring city in the world” accompanied by a stunning photograph of Istanbul.
