The targets and strategy of Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Visual Arts Directorate in the 2010 process have been determined by the needs and activities of contemporary arts in Turkey. There are two basic concerns that come to the fore in this respect: supporting young creative individuals and professional artists and promoting large masses of people to embrace contemporary art.
