Initiated for the purpose of contributing to the continuity of traditional arts –many of which are forgotten and not well appreciated nowadays- by joining these arts with modern facilities in order to make them visible in international platforms; the Traditional Arts Directorate maintains works and projects that aim at determining and registering Istanbul’s potential in this area, and making the best of this potential.

Applications start for Mahya Design Competition "Mahya Design Competition" aims at making mahya a ‘design object’ for the modern world by bringing out new initiatives to a traditional art.

Ebru comes out of Tank Exhibition will display ebru works of three generations from the Düzgünman School – a remarkable vein of the ebru art between 1 September and 3 october.

15 Exhibitions 15 Seminars Realized in various districts by Istanbul 2010 ECOC and the Classical Turkish Arts Foundation, the 15 Exhibitions 15 Seminars are a series on classic Turkish arts.

Foundation Museum of Hatt Arts Catalogue This project aims to outline and highlight that Istanbul is the center for the art of “hatt” and has the only “hatt” museum in Turkey.

99 Qu’rans An exhibition is aimed under the advisorship of Prof. Uğur Derman to display 99 Qu’rans scribed in Istanbul in an effort to articulate “hatt” artists of Istanbul.

Istanbul Miniatures from Cahide Keskiner Workshop The Istanbul Miniatures Exhibition features miniatures of eminent factors of the city culture like the Great Walls, Wall Gates together with birds and seaside mansions.
